FAQ

Where is Get Some Pickleball located?
2020 Bellaire Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48067. Just off 12 Mile in a light industrial zone with easy parking. Look for the black door with the black American bison head mounted on it. If you’re there, you’ve found it. If you’re unsure—you’re not quite there yet.
Opening date?
September 1st 2025
What will pricing look like?
That depends—on you. Take the survey here! Your input will shape how memberships, drop-in rates, and court times are structured. Speak up now!
What does the 300-member limit refer to? Have memberships already been sold?
Not yet—but the 300-member cap is intentional. We’re limiting initial memberships to 300 to ensure strong service, smooth operations, and reliable court access from day one. Memberships haven’t been released yet. We will notify Get Some prototype court testers, and the TEXT list before the public (see homepage).
Are all skill levels welcome?
Yes—and we mean that. Whether you’re brand new or borderline pro, you’ll find your place here. New players will work with our team of certified DUPR coaches to establish a rating and get matched with players at their level. And if you’re already playing at a high level—great. You’ll have serious competition.
100% Rated Games?
Almost all of them—and that’s a good thing. Rated games help drive better matchups, real improvement, and stronger competition. But we get it—not every session is about climbing the ranks. If you’re just here to drill or hit around with friends, you can opt out of rated games. Just let us know!
Will this be members-only?
Yes, the public is welcome. Please note members have priority booking. That said, we welcome the public to drop-in and reserve courts when spots are available!
Why Black?
Because it’s backed by science. Black offers the highest contrast available against the fluorescent yellow pickleball—mathematically superior to any other color palette. That means 30ms-50ms faster reaction times, more fire-fights, longer fire-fights, clearer shot visibility, and stronger learning feedback loop to the brain with every game.
Are you a fellow nerd? Read the science on the Why Black? page.
What’s special about your court lighting?
Everything. We worked with lighting designers behind events like Coachella and Movement to create something no other pickleball facility offers. No harsh overheads. No glare. Each court is lit like its own stage—with directional, zoned lighting that enhances visibility without distraction. Even better? You can customize your court’s lighting to your preference with a simple touchscreen. It’s performance lighting built for play—not contractor driven light selections made by non-players.
Are you running tournaments, clinics, or member events?
All of the above. Competitive events, beginner-to-advanced clinics, and tournaments on a new level. We’re focused on tournaments, training, and competitive open play. Expect high-level clinics, DUPR-based sessions, and match formats that push you to improve.
What's the "Inner Herd"?
The Inner Herd is a list of early supporters. A secret site connects them through a hidden door. It’s for those paying close attention, and willing to click a little deeper than most. They love the lucky number 7.
YOU CAN EXPECT
PREMIUM COURTS
Eight TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED pro-level indoor courts. Cushioned surfaces. Every inch is designed for serious movement, clean bounces, and real competition. Coupled with black walls and courts for optimal contrast and faster reaction times. Built for the grinders—not for the guessers.
INTELLIGENT MATCHMAKING
We understand the shortcomings of rating systems—and we’re here to set the stage for tighter games. At Get Some, open play is built around defined rating ranges, challenge courts at every level, and a community that want to explore improving the indoor experience. That means fewer mismatches, more pressure-cooker moments, and real opportunities to improve. Better games aren’t forced—they’re built by going beyond the data.
IMMERSIVE LIGHTING
It’s not a nightclub—but it feels like a stage. Each court is individually lit, engineered with lighting designers from Coachella and Movement to eliminate glare and overhead shadows. Every setting is dialed in for clarity, contrast, and focus—customizable by touchscreen. You’ve never played under lights like these.
THE BEST COMMUNITY
This isn’t a place you stumble into—it’s a place you commit to. Around here, community isn’t a buzzword—it’s The Herd. Respectful competitors, loyal members, and serious players—from beginners to grinders—who elevate everyone around them. If you’re ready to level up, you’ll be in good company.
